About the show
Written by Jack Thorne in collaboration with J.K. Rowling and John Tiffany, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is set nineteen years after the final book of the Harry Potter series. The show opened in London at the Palace Theatre in 2016 and has become a major theatrical event.
It has earned extraordinary recognition, becoming the most-awarded new play in West End history, with multiple Olivier Awards for Best New Play, Best Director and other categories. The staging is notable for its inventive use of stagecraft and special effects, creating what many describe as “magic you can feel in the theatre”.
